Over two years after Oxsa EP was released, happily coinciding with the launch of the label Argent Sale, Oxsa is back with a second EP well worth the wait!
4 tracks throwing us around and in between ravaging electro, mutant drum and bass and hard-hitting drum step, culminating in trancy melodies and a good dose of spinned distortion, well-known brand marks of this multi-instrumentalist artiste.
This release is also the very first vinyl release of the label. A limited series of 100 silk-screen printed record sleeves will be available, enough to keep both the craftwork fetishists as well as the download freaks happy-go-lucky.

Schnautzi: “Midi - Minuit”

Argent Sale has the immense pleasure of presenting Schnautzi’s second release.
Recently installed in his spanking new studio, Schnautzi was able to plug both his machines and his creativity back in; juggling the best numerical and analog sounds.
Built around melodies composed on his Roland MC 505 and Yamaha AN1X synthesizers, these two tracks are clear representatives of the far and wide influences to be found in our favorite moustached DJ and producer’s environment.
Midday Midnight essence resonates in bass music, whereas Postcore is a tribute to the Post rave – electro scene, which shook the dance-floors in the early 2000’s.

« Fasten your seatbelts, it’s going to be a bumpy night » says the intro of Bauchamp’s latest release on Argent Sale.
Raw, bizarre, addictive, subtle and stubborn, this EP doesn’t sound like anything else.
In between house and b-more club, with a subtle touch of electro, this release subsumes Leo Ramsey’s concept of the Bumpy Sound. Think about a dirty club, full of sweat, spilled beer fragrance and heavy sub bass, top it with Beyoncé’s look alike and cheeky boys, you’ll get the place Leo was thinking of when he wrote the four tracks of this EP.

Loccomotion «Spartacus»:

The Loccomotion cousins are back, with a brand new joint influenced by their harcdore metal, drum and bass, and hip hop influences, thanks to Julien Luna aka MC TEA (pronounce it in a french style please…).
His background ranges from hardcore hip hop with his first band Paradis Apokaliptik, dirty crunky sound with his collaboration with Kid Rolex in the Cumshot Deluxe project to punk vibes as he was sharing the mic with Jimmy Pouzet in the band The Bernardos.
Having shared the stage with Paradis Apokaliptik during a festival in the late 90’s back in the days when Olivier and André were playing in the infamous Rectal Humiliation punk grind core project, the Loccomotion – MC TEA collab started last october after, as many Argent Sale stories, a heavy drinking night. Olivier had to use his persuasion skills, playing beats over and over to Julien, to convince him he could spit some verses on Loccomotion’s music.
Ideas sparkled instantly into Julien’s brain when he heard the « Spartacus » beat. Build around two samples from Alain Weber’s « Forte Fortis XXVI » release on Kid Chocolat’s Poor Records imprint, this tracks spins at a drum and bass tempo but sounds like a hip-hop – metal crossover just like it used to be done in the 90’s.
Please welcome Loccomotion’s new member with this dark, powerful and sarcastic release !

A l’occasion de l’ouverture de son Pop Up store, The Square s’associe avec le label audiovisuel Argent Sale.
Jessica Champlaine AKA Dr Gertrude Tuning, responsable de l’environnement visuel du label, présentera son remix de l’oeuvre de Martin Schongauer: La Tentation de Saint Antoine.
On peut y voir Antoine l’Ermite, retiré dans le désert d’Egypte, qui subit la tentation représentée sous la forme des voluptés terrestres.
Gustave Flaubert a écrit un poème en prose, où la Chimère, le Griffon, Le Martichoras, le Sadhuzag, les Cynocéphales et autres hallucinations se succèdent pour tenter de corrompre Antoine le vertueux.
Une façon pour Argent Sale de s’appuyer sur cette référence moyenâgeuse afin de mener une réflexion teintée d’humour sur les relations ambiguës entre vertu et corruption, démarche artistique et désir de succès.
A l’occasion de cet événement, Argent Sale vous proposera d’acquérir sur place un cd édité en série limitée, dont chaque pochette est une pièce unique! Le contenu sonore, composé des dernières élucubrations des musiciens du label ne sera disponible que sous cette forme, présenté chez The Square puis sur notre online shop (s’il en reste…).
